п»їDiscuss evolutionary explanations of group exhibits of out and out aggression The adaptable and efficient benefits of hostile behaviour must outweigh the possible costs in order for it to be favourable. Purchase of status and access to mates are some of the primary motivators of aggression in non-human family pets, but there are many theories as to the reasons humans possess adapted. One is the Power-Threat Hypothesis, which represents the worry of a personal power being in the hands of a minority group. If a minority group poses a threat into a majority group, then they must display violence in order to keep their dominance over the community group. True to life events that support this theory will be lynch mobs, in which the great majority of victims were Black males. Tolnay and Beck found that some of the reasons behind the lynching of dark people were to them trying to election and voting for an incorrect party. This can be adaptive because they are trying to keep their prominent status over the minority group by displaying aggression in the form of lynchings. Yet , Clark examined lynch mobs in different countries and found the fact that main subjects in some of people countries had been Afro-Brazilians. These were not considered to pose a threat to the dominance from the majority community, and so this contradicts the hypothesis, because the fear with the minority had not been the major aspect in these lynchings. There is also support that lynching is made more probable through the means of de-individuation. Mullen found that as the size of the lynch mob elevated, it led to a breakdown in normal self-regulation processes which led to a rise in the level of physical violence against the victim. Another theory behind violence is lovemaking selection, because in some cultures there are fewer females than males. To ensure that males to draw a female they need to compete with the other person, and a good way they do this is by taking part in battle. Male warriors in classic societies generally have more...
